4. We have nearly 250 Marines o n our mailing list at this time, if any Marines would like to start an annual Marine Corps Birthday gathering at a local restaurant, please be in touch.  For years here in Utah, there has been gatherings among Marines and their families each year to celebrate our Marine Corps Birthday.  Perhaps we could form a number of small groups in our areas to carry on the Marine Corps tradition.;  If any Marines are interested.  If any Marines are interested, please be in touch with me and use the return address on the envelope or call (801) 281-6101 evenings.

5. Our Coordinator (Chris Knowlden) has a set the kick-off for the Toys for Tots Campaign for the 4th, 5th & 6TH of November.  He will be delivering containers at various stores in the Northern part of the state.  Anyone reading this newsletter that would like to pitch in. and gave our coordinator a helping hand please be in touch with him at the following numbers: 399-3842 or his cell #390-7778.

6. Included in this month's newsletter is a recent news article pertaining to one of our charter members.  Sorry, but the picture would not print clearly.

7. A recent printout from the National Headquarters, Marine Corps League shows that we have 109 paid members in the state of Utah.  We are beginning to move right along and growing.  Now, would be a good time for some of our Marines receiving our newsletter to come on board with our new Detachments.  Next month we will enclose applications to a few or our recipients on the mailing list.  The quarterly magazine is worth the membership price alone.

8. Because of a few unforeseen circumstances the Detachment is in the need of a few good Marines to step in as our Senior Vice Commandant and Junior Vice Commandant.  Paul Kelly, our Senior Vice Commandant was called up for duty, and is presently in Iraq.  Recently we received word that upon rotation home in January, his job will take him to Houston, Texas.

9. Our Junior Vice Commandant has relocated to Reno, NV.  Marines are not noted to be bashful or timid.  So if any Marines would like to be part of the action, this is a good opportunity to make a difference for our Marine Corps League here in the Northern part of the state.

10. We are also looking for additional Marine family members to help our Auxiliary in the Toys For Tots Campaign in the month of December, when we will be in the next phase of getting the toys sorted and distributed.  This should be a fun Christmas for all of us.
